KIPP Northeast Schools Field

Home to a KIPP elementary and middle school, this K-8 campus is set in Denver’s growing Gateway neighborhood, located in the city’s northeast corner.

Designed as a unique educational space for the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), a national network of public charter schools, which aims to prepare students from educationally underserved communities for higher education. The two-story building supports 950 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, and includes music and art classrooms, science labs, a gymnasium, and a cafetorium. Bright, metal panels highlight community spaces, such as the library, while contrasting brick colors in wing walls signal entries to visitors. Colors from the exterior carry to the interior of the building and provide a wayfinding system for the two programs sharing the facility.
