LOS DOS POTRILLOS - DENVER

Ramirez Hospitality Group

Situated at the busy intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Interstate 25, MOA worked closely with the Ramirez Hospitality Group to transform a worn-down space into the sixth Los Dos Potrillos restaurant location in Colorado — and the first within the City of Denver.

The existing building, which had previously housed three other restaurants, sat vacant for several months and suffered from burglaries and vandalism. MOA and the Ramirez family, however, saw the hidden potential in this rough-around-the-edges space. The vision was to create a brighter, more hospitable environment that aligned with Los Dos’s family-centric brand.

MOA designed the space through an iterative process, using renderings and models to help visualize the interior transformation. It was essential that the design reflect the authenticity of the food served and the mission of bringing people together through the dining experience. The reception area was reconfigured to welcome guests with a view of fresh tortillas being made as they enter. Should guests need to wait for a table, the adjacent bar and lounge area offers comfortable seating to enjoy a margarita.

The interior finishes, fixtures, and décor lean on a Mexican art aesthetic with a contemporary vibe. MOA worked directly with artisans and craftsmen from Guadalajara, Mexico, who created custom light fixtures, furniture, and metal fabrications. The result is an inviting space for friends and family to connect, one meal at a time.
