The Lafayette City Council has approved Medtronic’s plans for a 42-acre campus near Highway 287 and Northwest Parkway.

Medtronic partnered with Ryan Companies to develop the campus, which will serve as a regional headquarters for the medical device company, combining the company’s three Denver area offices and laboratories into a single campus and creating 1,000 new jobs. In 2019, MOA was selected by Medtronic and Ryan to serve as the campus architect.

Previously, the campus was planned for a site in Louisville, but disagreements between the City of Louisville and the area developer led Medtronic and Ryan to seek out the new site in Lafayette.

Over the past year, MOA has worked with Medtronic and Ryan Companies to design the 600,000-SF three-building campus, which will be developed in two phases. The first phase will include two five-story office and laboratory buildings. The second phase of construction will include a third five-story office building and a parking structure.

The team expects to break ground on the first phase of construction this spring, working towards the goal of moving employees into the building by the end of 2022.

“We’re really excited to be part of this project,” said Christine Warnert, a member of MOA’s team. “I’ve loved working with Ryan Companies on the Medtronic Campus project.”

MOA recently recognized Ryan Companies, who is the developer and contractor for the project, with the 2020 Client of the Year Dimensions Award.
