“I love that architecture can completely transform a space and change the lives of the people around it. That a little bit of money can possibly change a child's life in the school they attend or an employees life in the office they work. We spend most of our lives in buildings and its important that we design them in a way that improves our lives.”

“There is a William McDonough quote I have been carrying around for over a decade that I use as a foundation for every project I work on: ‘I think as designers we realize design is a signal of intention, but it also has to occur within a world and we have to understand that world in order to imbue our designs with inherent intelligence.’”

Connecting with Nature inspires me in the way I see design. Through materials, colors, and organic forms, I love to blur the line between inside and out.”

“I’m a perpetual student of the profession of architecture. There are so many facets of this practice – from the theoretical (connecting your design to a specific user culture or historical precedent) to the communal (collaborating with clients, consultants and contractors) to the highly technical (modeling and drafting sound waterproofing details). There is always a different part of your brain to activate and different skill sets to acquire and refine. Every time we turn over a project, I’m amazed by how many people and how much specialized skill it took to bring it into reality, and I am thankful to be part of the team.”
