HANOVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Hanover School District #28
Formerly known as Prairie Heights Elementary School, Hanover Elementary is undergoing a major addition and renovation to better serve the growing needs of its students and community. Designed by MOA ARCHITECTURE, this project addresses urgent facility upgrades while creating a modern, safe, and inspiring learning environment.
The design process was deeply collaborative, with district leadership, school staff, families, and community members contributing through a series of Design Advisory Group (DAG) workshops. The resulting design is a direct reflection of the community’s priorities and aspirations for the future of education in Hanover.
Key features of the project include:
Seven new classrooms, replacing all modular classrooms with permanent, state-of-the-art facilities.
A secure entry vestibule, improving safety and controlled access to the building.
A new media center, designed to foster learning, exploration, and discovery.
An expanded kitchen, enhancing the school’s ability to serve students healthy meals efficiently.
Replacement of outdated mechanical systems, ensuring better indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
Installation of a reverse osmosis system, providing students and staff with improved water quality.
Funded by the BEST Grant Program from the Colorado Department of Education, the project reflects a strong community commitment to safety, health, and academic success. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2025.
