Douglas County School District Celebrates Topping Out of Elementary School 51 in Sterling Ranch

August 24, 2026 marked an exciting milestone for Douglas County School District's newest school project as community members, district leaders, project partners, and future students gathered to celebrate the topping out of Elementary School 51 in Sterling Ranch.

The topping out ceremony commemorated the placement of one of the final structural elements of the building and highlighted the remarkable progress being made on the future school. What made the event especially memorable was the enthusiasm of the growing Sterling Ranch community.

Future students eagerly watched as their new school continued to take shape, while families arrived by bike and gathered on-site to take part in the celebration. The excitement throughout the event was a clear reflection of how meaningful this new school already is to the families who will soon call it their own.

Designed to serve up to 750 students, Elementary School 51 will provide a modern learning environment that supports the district's commitment to educational excellence and accommodates the continued growth of the Sterling Ranch area.

Scheduled to open in Fall 2027, the new elementary school represents an important investment in the future of the community. As construction continues, anticipation is building for the day when students walk through its doors for the very first time.
