Accounting Manager

MOA ARCHITECTURE has a career opportunity for a full-time Accounting Manager to be based in either of our Denver, Colorado or Casper, Wyoming offices to perform overall accounting functions in support of our team of 50 professionals in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance -or- an Associate Degree preferred but not required and 4+ years’ experience in a professional services firm (Architecture/Engineering industry a plus)
- Understanding of standard accounting procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and accounting data entry in a professional services firm.
- Hands-on experience in accounting utilizing Deltek Vantagepoint in an architecture, interior design, or engineering firm or other related software (Deltek Vision, Ajera, etc.)
- Experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Oversees HR to ensure that the company is in compliance with state and federal laws
- Represents the company in meetings with regulatory agencies and other external parties
- Leads the annual financial and insurance audits
- Assists the team with various functions, such as billings, payables, payroll, and HR, as needed
- Trains, mentors and updates the team on new or improved processes
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Can meet on-going weekly and monthly deadlines
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and/or collaborate on all accounting functions for the firm
- Accounts Receivable: Create, reconcile and post payments, process bank deposits
- Accounts Payable: Manage vendor and consultant invoice entry, check runs, mail payments
- Process bi-monthly timesheets and payroll
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for multiple internal companies
- Maintain and reconcile General Ledger
- Support Project Accounting
- Maintain Finance Reporting and Business Records
- Participate in Finance Planning for the firm
- Quarterly and annual tax filings and reports in multiple states
- Reconcile credit card statements, bank statements
- Process and review employee expense claims
- Support/assist project managers with project set-up in Deltek
- Maintain consultants’ insurance certificate requests and files
- HR support: Employee benefits registration & administration
- Coordinate annual business and health insurance renewal process
- Training, oversight and supervision of administration and accounting staff in support and back-up roles

- Has 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, and business practice, and has a solid knowledge base and understanding of accounting principles

- Has strong organizational, communication, time, and relationship management skills
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy, checks own work

- Highly reliable and can earn the trust and respect of all those they work with
- Is a great representative of MOA to our staff, clients, consultants, vendors, and other industry partners
- Has excellent team and client support skills
- Works with accounting department of 2 other staff members to ensure financial positions of income, expense, and earnings
Salary commensurate with experience and capabilities: $85,000 to $100,000
